Fan Technique, Tips and Tricks 2 - Free Multilevel Class

A **FREE ONLINE** Flamenco Fan class. Always wanted to learn how to dance with a flamenco fan? Need to brush up your skills? This Free 4-week course will continue our basic fan technique , drills and sequences from May. Fan required. As we get through the third COVID-19 wave and in lieu of our cancelled in-person classes, we thought to offer a few free courses to help us all get though this together. When in doubt, keep on dancing ### Wednesdays in June (2nd-23rd) ### START TIMES BY TIME ZONE **North America* 6pm Atlantic, 5pm Eastern, 4pm Central, 3pm Mountain, 2pm Pacific **Europe** 22 h Europe, Central European time, UK, 9pm ### About this Course A flamenco fan is a great way to add grace and elegance to a dance and is an attractive addition to any performance. Fans are traditionally used in Flamenco dancing, particularly Sevillanas, Caracoles and Guajiras. A pericon fan is a large dance fan, usually used by women. In recent times, smaller fans have been used for many types of Flamenco dancing, including siguiriyas, solea etc and have been used by dancers of all genders. Dancing with a Flamenco Fan is a great way to expand and elevate your dancing. Holding a fan in your hand makes dancers more aware of their hand and arm placement and makes us concentrate on the paths we take with our upper body movements, particularly marking and turns. Fans are also another tool that can be used to emphasize the compas (rhythm), in addition to our feet, heads etc. This is an open level class, suitable for Beginner level (2) and Beginner plus level (3) students. Fan required. This is a FREE ONLINE EVENT specially designed for our students to continue to take class together during the Nova Scotia lockdown. It is also a fundraiser to support our artists and activities. We hope you can join us!
