About flamenco:

Coiling wrists, fluid arms and percussive footwork are hallmarks of flamenco dance— a mesmerizing, soul-enriching dance form that parallels the beautiful melodies and intricate rhythms of flamenco music. Danced individually by men and women alike, flamenco is the heartbeat of a culture in which joy and sorrow are expressed through dance and music. and the relationship between the cante (singing), baile (dancing), and the compás (rhythm).

Clothing: wear whatever makes you feel good and allows you to move your arms up and around freely.

Footwear: wear shoes that hold your feet properly, which means avoid open toe and open heel (avoid sandals, slip ons, tip flops, bare feet or wedges). It is best to wear a shoe with a a bit of a heel that can make a little bit of sound. If not, a pair of sneakers should be enough.
